We’ll send one of these special Christmas creations, with our best wishes for the season, to everyone who follows our company page on LinkedIn between now and Christmas!

Our Managing Director Karen Friendship – a keen local ambassador for STEM subject education – led the project and chose the winning design.  The students also visited the factory for a tour, which gave them an insight into daily operations at an engineering company.

“It’s a pleasure to help inspire the next generation of engineers,” Karen said.  “With this project we encouraged the students to not only think about design, but also the practicalities and the business side of manufacturing – such as calculating the cost of manufacture, and efficient material use.”

The college students and staff expressed their thanks.  “It has been a great project to be involved with,” said lecturer Mike Turpin.  “Karen gave us some really key messages about the wide variety of types of engineering that go on in the workplace and the range of possible routes into an engineering career.  All in all a brilliant insight and very much appreciated.”
